Lion of Ido

Has anyone noticed that there are all theses bands out today that sound and look the same.  They all have the same hair… all their drum sets sound the same… they have lead singer…they write songs about the same stuff.  Soon enough the floor with fall out from under them.  Mind you, many of theses bands probably write great pop songs… but so did White Snake.  Anyway, I will be happy to carry your asses kicking and scream to some new kind of pop rock that doesn’t sound like that.

Soooo…. Since we’ve gotten back from LA things have been none stop.  I’ve been in the studio working on a few records… I am bouncing something as we speak.  I have been writing some really cool songs… Thank you Mr. Jerry… we are working on the lyrics as well.  The new songs are a nice Lion of Ido mix… we have some time to writing songs are rehearsal with the band … which is something I haven’t done in a long time.  It was fun… we came up with some really cool stuff.  We also have been tweaking the songs we wrote in LA.  The songs lyrically are a lot like Memories… in the sense that they are straight forward… to the point… and some times a little bit uncomfortably direct…I think its some of the best stuff yet.

Mike and I spent 2 and half weeks in LA just doing some writing.  I like LA… there ya go I said it.  Yes, everything closes at 2, the food sucks, and you need a car to get everywhere… but its awesome.  The weather was beautiful and Mike and I experienced an earthquake.  The building shook and we started laughing like kids who just did something mischievous.  We wrote some really amazing songs, and we will be tracking them, I would imagine, within the next few weeks.  One of the best things about this band for me is the pace in which I am able to write and record.  Its been about 9 months since I put out the first album.  It has 13 tracks… since then I have recorded about 8 songs.  With these next few we should have enough for another album pretty soon.  Two albums a year… not a bad start:)
